Leila Hassan is a sound artist. Her sound is a collage: she mixes her voice with noise and the sounds of the wind, the sea and electronic tones. And instead of singing, she speaks in English, Italian and Arabic in her tracks. Leila herself is born in Linz; her father is Egyptian, her mother German-Czech. Julia Neumann met her underneath rustling leaves and the blowing wind in Berlin, where she lives.
